FED: Easter Saturday crashes take national toll to 9

Road accidents across the nation have left four people dead today .. taking the national
toll to nine.

Three people perished in crashes in three states .. and one died in hospital after
an accident in Perth on Thursday.

A woman who died in a head-on crash in Sydney's southwest tonight .. has taken the
state's Easter Holiday toll to two .. and a man aged in his 20s died near Ispwich in southeast
Queensland .. that state's first fatality this season.

In Victoria .. a 22-year-old motorcyclist died only 200 metres from his home at Wantirna
in Melbourne's east .. when his bike hit a tree .. becoming the third fatality in the
state this long weekend.

Victoria leads the holiday road toll statistics with three dead .. followed by New
South Wales with two .. and Queensland .. South Australia .. Western Australia .. and
the ACT with one death each.
